Photonics for Future Computing

ABOUT US

Open the door of
next-generation computing with photonics

Professor Nakagawa’s research focuses on photonics for next generation computing and realize quantum computers and non-CMOS AI hardware. For quantum computing, we develop quantum-dot vertical microcavities to generate single photons or entangled photon pairs to realize photonic quantum computers with photons as qubits and quantum interconnects to transmit quantum states. We also develop topological photonics to realize trapped-ion quantum computers. For hardware to realize dynamic AI, we develop photonic active cavities for photonic reservoir computing.
